Romania may export record volume of corn
According to the port data, in the first month of 2019/20 MY Romania exported 479 KMT of corn, which is 9% higher than in the same month of 2018. This was the largest volume for September compared to the previous three years, reports UkrAgroConsult.
In September-August 2018/19 Romania shipped 4234 KMT of corn via ports. This was 33% more than over the same period of 2017/18 due to the high export potential and active demand from the EU countries and Turkey. Final data for the season 2018/19 will be published in mid-November.
Assuming that in 2019 Romania obtained the second highest corn crop (+7% y/y), UkrAgroConsult estimates the country can export record volume of corn in 2019/20 MY.
