Chickpea exports from Russia record improved performance

Dec 16/20 – SNS — Russia’s movement of chickpeas during October made major gains, advancing versus the previous month, judging from data from Federal Customs Service of Russia.
Total shipments for the month reached 50,498 metric tons (MT), up 29% from the previous month’s total of 39,156. So far exports have amounted to 306,923 MT, down from 323,826 during the last calendar year.
Recent movement statistics showed India was most important consumer, receiving 32,116 MT in the month. Pakistan was the second most important buyer receiving 8,175 MT, followed by Turkey at 7,207 MT.
