Ukraine gets 50 thsd ton duty-free sunflower seed export quota to Turkey
The free trade agreement between Ukraine and Turkey, which entered into force on October 1, provides for an annual quota for duty-free exports of Ukrainian sunflower seed to Turkey.
The quota is set at 50 thsd tons per year. Within this volume, Ukrainian exporters will be able to ship sunflower seed without paying Ukraine’s export duty, which normally stands at 10%.
The quota will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Duty-free access will therefore depend on the order in which shipments are registered within the available quota.
Exports above the 50 thsd ton quota will remain subject to Ukraine’s 10% export duty.
The exemption applies only to Ukraine’s export duty. Import duties and other taxation applied to sunflower seed in Turkey are regulated separately.
