Kazakhstan. Winter wheat was in good and excellent condition

Weather conditions. On November 11-20, a drop in night air temperatures in winter wheat growing areas (the south and southeast of the country) to 4…10°С below freezing, locally to 18°C below freezing, caused winter wheat to stop growing in single areas in Almaty region. The lowest soil temperature at the tillering node depth of winter wheat was 0˚С to 7˚С to below freezing. This temperature was above the critical killing level even for underdeveloped winter wheat.

Moisture supply. Brief precipitation events contributed to the accumulation of soil moisture.

Condition of winter crops. Winter wheat was in good and excellent condition on November 11-20, reports UkrAgroConsult.
