Ukraine exported record volume of sunflower seed during the first two months of the season

Sunflower seed exports in September-October 2020/21 reached the highest level since MY 2004/05, 76.9 KMT (5.1 KMT in MY 2019/20), UkrAgroConsult reports.
As before, the key importer is the EU (98% of total exports) as Bulgaria boosted purchases – to 71 KMT (less than 0.1 KMT a year earlier).
In the beginning of the season, Turkey traditionally imports sunflower seed from other Black Sea countries. The country has scrapped its import tariff on sunflower seed and entered Ukraine’s market for purchases in November.
Growth in exports was registered to the following markets: Germany (+98%), Czech Republic (+383%), Poland (+146%).
A slowdown in exports was fixed to Mexico (-37%), Denmark (-37%) and India (-24%).
