Soybean meal exports from Argentina, Brazil and the US hit record 73 mln tons

Combined soybean meal exports from Argentina, Brazil and the US reached a record 73 mln tons in 2025/26, up from 68.9 mln tons a year earlier, according to Oil World. Over the past three years, shipments from the three largest exporters have increased by 17 mln tons.

Exports were particularly strong in the summer of 2026. In June–August, the three countries shipped 19.95 mln tons of soybean meal, up 2.1 mln tons from the same period last year.

In August, Argentina exported nearly 3 mln tons of soybean meal, while Brazil shipped 2.34 mln tons. Higher soybean crushing supported the increase, with the EU remaining one of the key destinations.

The US exported 1.33 mln tons of soybean meal in August, down from 1.59 mln tons in July but slightly above 1.3 mln tons a year earlier. The Philippines and Mexico remained the main buyers of US meal.

The EU was the largest soybean meal importer in 2025/26 at 19.92 mln tons, followed by Indonesia at 6.91 mln tons, Vietnam at 4.55 mln tons, the Philippines at 3.79 mln tons and Thailand at 3.01 mln tons.
