Algeria held a tender for the purchase of wheat
On January 10, the Algerian state-owned company OAIC held a tender for the purchase of at least 50 thousand tons of durum wheat. This was reported by Zerno On-Line with reference to European traders.
According to preliminary data, the purchase price was about $450 per ton on a c&f basis for delivery on Panamax vessels and $463-465 per ton on a c&f basis for delivery on Handymax vessels.
According to traders, purchased wheat is mainly of Canadian origin. Some quantity will be delivered from Mexico and Australia.
Delivery will take place from February 1 to 15, February 16 to 29, March 1 to 15 and March 16 to 31.
