China accelerated customs procedures for soybean imports from Russia

Customs in the Chinese city of Heihe (one of China’s largest cities on the border with Russia) has considerably accelerated the process of passing soybeans imported from Russia, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Under conditions of an experimental free trade area, measures were taken at the Chinese customs for simplifying goods transportation across the border. This reduced the duration of customs clearance and decreased transportation costs for goods importers and exporters.
The key measures included the possibility to pay duties via the Internet and the systematization of data of Chinese importing companies.
Total freight turnover of the Heihe customs in 2019 reached a record 743 KMT (+28.3% from 2018).
