Paraguay’s soybean planted area could increase to 3.6–3.7 mln ha in the 2026/27 MY, according to preliminary estimates from the Paraguayan Grains and Oilseed Traders Association (CAPECO). In the previous season, soybean area totaled 3.407 mln ha.

This means planted area could expand by around 200–300 thsd ha. Producers are positive about weather prospects for the new season, although they continue to point to economic and geopolitical risks.

Paraguay harvested around 11.5 mln tons of soybeans in the 2025/26 MY. The average yield reached 3.374 t/ha.

Further acreage expansion creates potential for higher production in the new season if weather conditions remain favorable and yields stay stable. Final results, however, will depend on planting progress and weather during the growing season.

The sector is also continuing to adopt technologies aimed at improving efficiency and soybean productivity.
