Russia has blocked the Black Sea grain corridor again and is spreading fake news about the Ukrainian Navy
On April 26, Russia blocked the Black Sea grain corridor – at the joint coordination center in Istanbul, Russian representatives refused to coordinate the movement of ships in the humanitarian corridor to and from Ukrainian sea ports. This is reported by the press service of the Navy of the AFU.
“As a result, today 4 vessels, including the vessel AKDENIZ-M, which is chartered by the World Food Program of the UN to deliver wheat to Ethiopia, have not yet been able to leave the ports of Chernomorsk, Odesa and Yuzhny and are forced to wait additional time to coordinate their passage. Also one ship is waiting for passage to Odesa port near Sulina”, – noted in the Navy.
In addition, since this morning in the Internet information appeared as if it was the Ukrainian Navy banned the movement of merchant ships in the framework of the grain initiative of the ports of Great Odesa.
“Such information is absolutely untrue. We emphasize that Ukraine strictly performs all its obligations within the framework of the Black Sea Grain Initiative and makes every effort to maintain and expand the export of grain and related food cargoes by sea in the interests of our state,” the Ukrainian navy said.
As of April 25, according to the UN, the grain corridor from Ukrainian ports shipped 28.9 million tons of agricultural products to Africa, Asia and Europe. Here corn (14.5 million tons), wheat (7.9 million tons) and sunflower oil (1.5 million tons).
We would like to remind you that the inspection of the “grain initiative” vessels in the Bosporus has been recently resumed. The Russian party tried in every possible way to hinder the implementation of the deal.
On April 26, U.N. Secretary General António Guterres will meet with Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during a visit to Washington. The visit is part of an effort to preserve the grain initiative, which Russia is seeking to break.
