Russia. Azov Sea ports stopped grain reception and exports

Last week’s considerable water-level decrease in the Azov Sea basin temporarily stopped navigation in the Russian ports of Azov and Rostov-on-Don. As a result, export shipments from small ports ceased and many terminals restricted the reception of grains.

Strong northeastern wind sharply lowered the water level in the Russian Azov Sea ports. According to trade sources, the water level in some places is 1-2 m lower than needed. As of November 28, 2019, over 100 vessels were waiting to leave the seaports of Rostov-on-Don and Azov, reports UkrAgroConsult.
