Romania provides almost 60% of Ukrainian grain transit
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the volume of Ukrainian grain transit through Romania has already exceeded 27 million tonnes, which is 60% of the total transit.
This was stated by Romanian President Klaus Iohannis at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Bucharest.
“It was agreed to double the transit capacity through Romanian ports to 4 million tonnes of agricultural products. Almost 60% of Ukraine’s total grain exports transit through Romania. In fact, since the beginning of the war, more than 27 million tonnes of grain from Ukraine have transited through our country,” said Iohannis.
He assured his Ukrainian counterpart Zelensky that Romania would make every effort to continue supporting Ukraine. At the same time, Iohannis spoke about meeting the expectations of Romanian farmers.
