Poland slightly increased rapeseed production
This year, the gross harvest of rapeseed in Poland, which is one of the leading agricultural producing countries in the European Union, is estimated at 3.7 million tons. According to the official statistics, the oilseed harvest in the region slightly increased to the level of 2022 – by 1%.
At the same time, the country’s grain production, on the contrary, will decrease by 1% compared to the previous year – to 35.2 mln tons. The reason for such dynamics will be unfavorable weather conditions.
It is worth noting that in the current year Polish farmers allocated 7.1 mln ha for grain: the largest area was occupied by wheat, rye and barley – 3.7 mln ha in total.
“The harvest of major grain crops in the country amounted to 26.1 million tons, which is 3% less than last year. In particular, the production of winter grains is estimated at 21.9 million tons, which is 1% less than in the previous year, while the harvest of spring grains is estimated at 4.2 million tons (-14% per year),” the report says.
