Over 1.2 million tons of grain transported for export by Ukrainian railways in the first half of November
In the first half of November, Ukrainian railways transported 1 million 204.5 thousand tons of grain for export. This was discussed during a meeting of the company’s representatives with grain market participants on November 16.
If such volumes are maintained in the second half of the month, then by the end of November, approximately 2.5 million tons of grain may be exported. This forecast was voiced by Valeriy Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Commercial Department of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC. He added that this is significantly more than the 1 million 731 thousand tons exported by the railroad in October.
Currently, the volumes transported to ports are more than twice as high as those transported through western border crossings. Thus, 849 thousand 150 tons were transported to the ports, and 355 thousand 310 tons to the western border crossings.
Grain transportation on the railroad network is also growing. Thus, during 15 days of November, 1 mln 171 thsd tonnes were loaded. The share of grain in the total volume is 19.8%.
The volume of average daily loading in November amounted to 86 thousand 900 tons. This is 11 thousand 300 tons, or 14.9%, more than in October.
