Corn imports to the EU countries fell by 40%
During the sixteen weeks of the current season, the EU countries imported 5.067 mln tonnes of corn, which is 40% less compared to the same period last season. This was reported by the European Commission.
Brazil remains the largest supplier of corn to the EU (2.248 mln tonnes). It is followed by Ukraine (2.211 million tons) and Canada (0.220 million tons).
Imported corn is mainly supplied to Spain (2.104 million tons), the Netherlands (0.675 million tons), and Italy (0.617 million tons).
