Contacts with all parties on the “grain deal” will continue, – Guterres
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will continue contacts on the resumption of the grain deal.
“Contacts with all parties will continue. With Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, and other parties that can influence the global agricultural market,” he said at a press conference at the UN headquarters.
Guterres noted that he is focused on agreements that would meet the interests of both Kyiv and Moscow.
“We have to be pragmatic (…). And we have to do everything to ensure that agricultural products and fertilizers from Russia and Ukraine have access to global markets,” he said, answering a question about whether he believes it is possible to develop a new Black Sea Grain Initiative without the participation of the Russian side.
