Almost 3.7 million hectares of winter crops sown in Ukraine
Almost 3.7 million hectares of winter crops have been sown by farmers in all regions of Ukraine.
Winter grain crops were sown on 2,583 thou hectares, including 2,352 thou hectares of wheat, 171 thou hectares of barley, and 60 thou hectares of rye.
Sumy region farmers sowed the most winter crops – 97% of the forecast. The leader in wheat planting is Dnipropetrovs’k region (271.3 thou hectares), barley – Mykolaiv region (25 thou hectares), rye – Volyn (13 thou hectares).
Over the previous week, 680 thsd ha of winter crops were planted.
Agricultural producers in all regions of Ukraine are completing the sowing of winter rape, which is planted on 1 111 thsd ha. The largest areas are in Dnipropetrovs’k region (117.3 thou hectares) and Odesa region (103.6 thou hectares).
Over the previous week, 24 thsd ha of winter rapeseed were sown.
