Strategic changes in the food market

Products: cereals, muesli, starch products, healthy drinks, vegetable products.

Area of expertise: production, processing, packaging, sales directions, risks and forecasts.

Healthy eating trends, increasing production and use of convenience foods, increasing eat&go consumption trends, and changes in food packaging trends are leading to strategic changes in the behaviour of players in the food market.

As a result of these trends, the global structure of processing and final product production is being transformed. This is one of the key drivers for the Ukrainian processing industry, which has to take into account regional consumer preferences when entering international markets.

In a new study, UkrAgroConsult analyses the mutual influence of the raw material and end-product markets on the behaviour of domestic players. The study analyses such markets as cereals, instant food, herbal beverages (‘milk’), starch-containing raw materials and niche products for healthy eating.

UkrAgroConsult’s research aims to analyse the main production trends, the impact of funding sources, and the similarities and differences in the strategies of large and small producers:

  • Trends in raw material markets, including grains, pulses, niche crops, horticultural products
  • Influence of consumer behaviour on the production structure of final products
  • Potential for developing new areas of production
  • Successful cases and pitfalls
  • Target markets
