Ukrainian sunflower seed exports to increase in H2 2019/20

Sunflower seed exports in September-December 2019/20 were the lowest since MY 2005/06, at 14.1 KMT (down 61% year-on-year), reports UkrAgroConsult.
As before, the key importer this season is the EU with 11 KMT (up 36% year-on-year and 78% of total exports).
Turkey slashed purchases by 98% (0.5 KMT against 22.8 KMT a year earlier). Shipments to the country are expected to increase from February 2020 owing to a cut in the sunseed import duty in Turkey (49% against 122% charged now, or it may even be reduced to zero).
Growth in exports was registered to Bulgaria (+282%), Germany (+61%) and China (manifold).
A slowdown in exports occurred to Azerbaijan (-99%), Sweden (-87%) and Romania (-41%).
