Ukrainian refineries produced 1M tonnes of sugar in current season

In the 2021/2022 marketing year, Ukrainian sugar refineries have produced more than 1 million tonnes of sugar so far, Ukrinform reports, referring to the Ukrtsukor National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine.
“As of November 19, 2021, 1.9 million tonnes of sugar were produced and 7.19 million tonnes of sugar beets were processed,” reads the report.
The sugar beet processing is carried out at 29 sugar refineries across the country.
As Ukrinform reported, according to data provided by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, as of November 18, 10.3 million tonnes of sugar beets were gathered from 217.9 thousand ha (96% of projected area), with a yield capacity being 470.7 centner/ha.
The current sugar refining season in Ukraine began on August 21. According to the Ministry of Economy, Ukraine’s sugar production is expected to reach 1.4 million tonnes.
