Argentina nearly triples goat meat exports in 2026
Argentina increased goat meat exports by 186% y/y in January-July 2026. Export revenue rose by 380% to $715 thsd.
The average value per ton of goat meat shipped abroad increased by 68% y/y. Export growth was accompanied by stronger production indicators in the sector.
According to the country’s agricultural authorities, goat slaughter increased by 18.4% in January-July, while carcass meat production rose by 37.7% compared with the same period in 2025.
The Middle East remains the main export destination. Saudi Arabia accounted for 36% of shipments and Oman for 28%. Argentina also exports goat meat to Sri Lanka, Qatar, the Bahamas and Kuwait.
Argentina’s goat herd stands at around 4.02 mln head. The largest populations are concentrated in Neuquén, Mendoza, Santiago del Estero, Chaco and Salta
