China sharply resumes US soybean imports after four-week pause
The US shipped 328.2 thsd tons of soybeans to China in the week ended September 10, 2026, following four consecutive weeks with no shipments. According to USDA, six cargoes were dispatched.
Shipments to China accounted for 48.8% of total US soybean export inspections for the week. A week earlier, the share was zero.
During the same period in 2025, the US also shipped no soybeans to China, while in 2024 shipments totaled just 5.2 thsd tons.
SunSirs said the sharp recovery in Chinese purchases indicates stronger demand for US soybeans and could support both spot prices and US soybean futures.
At the same time, the impact on the Chinese market may be more limited due to expectations of higher soybean import supply.
