Ukraine summarized the results of the 2023 harvest
In 2023, the gross harvest of grains and pulses in Ukraine amounted to 59.77 mln tonnes, up 11% year-on-year. The crops were harvested from 10.98 mln ha (-10%) with the yield of 55.2 c/ha (+21%).
Such updated data was released by the State Statistics Service.
In particular, last year’s wheat harvest amounted to 21.63 mln tonnes, barley – 5.5 mln tonnes, corn – 31.03 mln tonnes, rye -231.2 thou tonnes, oats – up to 427.3 thou tonnes, buckwheat – up to 210.7 thou tonnes, millet – up to 203.5 thou tonnes.
Pulses amounted to 460.6 thou tons, including 368.4 thou tons of peas and almost 71 thou tons of beans.
At the same time, the production of industrial crops amounted to 21.8 million tons, including 12.76 million tons of sunflower seeds, 4.18 million tons of rapeseed, and 4.74 million tons of soybeans.
The sugar beet harvest is estimated at 13.13 mln tons.
Oil flax production amounted to 5.4 thousand tons.
