Ukraine sowed 375.4 thou hectares of grains and pulses last week
Sowing of spring grains and pulses has been completed in Odesa region. In total, 8 thou hectares of wheat, 50.0 thou hectares of barley, 32.0 thou hectares of peas and 1.6 thou hectares of oats were sown.
In total, 852.1 thou hectares of grains and pulses have been sown on the territory controlled by Ukraine. These include:
- wheat – 118.3 thou hectares
- barley – 543.2 thou hectares
- peas – 119.0 thou hectares;
- oats – 62.4 thou hectares.
Over the past week, the country’s agrarians sowed 375.4 thou hectares of grains and pulses.
Most of all:
- In Poltava region – 6.5 thou hectares of wheat, 56.2 thou hectares of barley, 4.7 thou hectares of peas and 2.3 thou hectares of oats.
- In Ternopil region – 18.4 thou hectares of wheat, 73.0 thou hectares of barley, 7.5 thou hectares of peas and 5.1 thou hectares of oats.
- In Khmelnytsky region – 11.4 thou hectares of wheat, 48.4 thou hectares of barley, 2.2 thou hectares of peas and 1.9 thou hectares of oats.
- In Mykolaiv region – 2.7 thou hectares of wheat, 36.2 thou hectares of barley, 18.3 thou hectares of peas and 0.5 thou hectares of oats.
- In Vinnytsia region – 9.3 thou hectares of wheat, 39.8 thou hectares of barley, 5.6 thou hectares of peas and 0.8 thou hectares of oats.
- In Kyiv region – 11.7 thou hectares of wheat, 32.1 thou hectares of barley, 4.4 thou hectares of peas and 2.8 thou hectares of oats.
Sugar beet has already been sown on an area of 58.7 hectares. Poltava region is the leader with 20.5 thou hectares.
Ukrainian farmers are also sowing oilseeds. In particular, sunflower is already being sown in Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Cherkasy, and Chernivtsi regions. A total of 35.7 thou hectares have been planted with the crop.
Soybeans are sown in Vinnytsia, Odesa, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions.
