Ukraine harvested more than 28.5 mln tons of grains and oilseeds
As of the beginning of August, 25.3 mln tons of grains and over 3.2 mln tons of oilseeds have been harvested. In total, the new harvest has been threshed on an area of over 7.3 mln ha, yielding 2.85 mln tons.
Agrarians in Poltava, Odesa, Kherson, Kirovograd and Cherkasy regions have completed harvesting early grains and pulses.
As of today, they have already harvested
- wheat – threshed on an area of 4.46 mln ha, harvested 19.4 mln tons
- barley – 1.2 mln ha have been harvested, with a harvest of 4.8 mln tons
- peas – 205.7 thsd ha were harvested, with a harvest of 451.6 thsd tons.
- rapeseed – 1,195.5 thou ha were harvested, with a total harvest of 3.24 mln tons.
Grain harvesting is led by farmers in Odesa region, where 1064.9 thou hectares were threshed. Khmelnytsky region is the leader in terms of yields, with 6.5 tons per ha.
Farmers in Dnipropetrovs’k, Kharkiv and Kherson regions have started harvesting buckwheat and millet.
