Ukraine completes spring sowing campaign 2024

Following the results of the spring sowing season, 7.2 million hectares of oilseeds and almost 5.6 million hectares of grains and pulses were planted in the territory controlled by Ukraine.
In particular, farmers sowed more than 99% of the forecasted areas of spring grains and pulses:
- corn – 3,928 thou hectares (100.4% of the projected areas)
- barley – 783 thsd ha (95.7%);
- wheat – 252.7 thou hectares (102.6%);
- oats – 163.7 thou hectares (100.7%);
- peas – 162.5 thousand hectares (101.6%);
- buckwheat – 100.8 thou hectares (80.7%);
- millet – 69.7 thou hectares (81.8%).
Among oilseeds, the company planted sunflower on 5,2 mln hectares (98%) and soybeans on 2 mln hectares (102%).
Sugar beet was planted on the area of 250.1 thou hectares (97%).
