Ukraine. Capital investments in agricultural sector are growing
In January-September 2021, capital investments in agricultural and food sectors of the economy amounted to UAH 48.83 billion, including UAH 33.34 billion (68.3%) in agriculture and UAH 15.49 billion (31.7%) in the food industry.
The National Research Center “Institute of Agrarian Economics” (IAE) reports this, commenting on the data provided by the State Statistics Service on the volume of capital investments for January-September 2021, Ukrinform reports.
In the structure of capital investments into the economy, investments in the manufacturing of agriculture and food products totaled 14.7% in January-September 2021.
In January-September 2021, compared to the same period last year, capital investments in the agriculture and food industry rose by 13.1%, which suspended the deepening of the investment crisis. At the same time, the growth of investments was recorded only in the agricultural sector of the economy, while in the food industry, on the contrary, there was a decline.
Change indexes in the volume of capital investments in percentage form in January-September 2021, compared with the corresponding period last year, were as follows: agriculture and hunting – 119.7%; forestry – 331.0%; fisheries – 121.5%; food industry – 95.3%. According to IAE experts, the growth rate of capital investment in agricultural sectors of the economy is 2.2 times higher than the average for the economy.
