Turkey to allow imports of 1 mln tons of corn with reduced duty
Turkey will allow imports of 1 million tons of corn by the end of the year with a duty of 5%, the Turkish Trade Ministry announced on October 10.
In a statement, the ministry announced that the import quota was granted to balance corn supply and demand, as domestic production is insufficient to meet domestic consumption. The current duty of 130% will be imposed once corn imports exceed 1 million tons.
