Top 6 products of Ukrainian agricultural exports in August
In August 2024, Ukraine exported goods worth more than $3.16 billion. This is 6.4% more than in July and 17.5% more than in August 2023.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the most exported goods were rapeseed or kola seeds – for $421.3 million, and ores and iron concentrates, which reached 2.5 million tons in terms of physical volume.
In the agricultural sector, Ukraine exported the following in August:
- rapeseed – 878.9 thousand tons for $421.3 million;
- wheat – 2.24 mln tons, worth $420.4 mln;
- sunflower oil – 226.9 thsd tonnes, worth $203.1 mln;
- corn – 774.5 thsd tonnes, worth $137.4 mln;
- barley – 524.8 thsd tonnes worth $89.7 mln;
- poultry meat – 39.9 thsd tonnes worth $89.5 mln.
“For the second month in a row, exports have been growing due to the early start of the harvest and improved maritime logistics. In August, we increased our sea freight turnover by 224.7 thousand tons, or 3.6% compared to July. Ukraine remains a guarantor of food security in the world. In August, Ukraine exported more than 2.2 mln tons of wheat worth $420.4 mln. After the record figures of February 2024, this is the second record figure in terms of both volume and value since the beginning of the full-scale invasion,” said Yulia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
