Global dairy demand remains stable as milk production rises
Global demand for dairy products remains stable despite rising milk production in major exporting countries. One of the key factors supporting the market is the long-term increase in demand for high-protein products.
According to Fonterra, consumer interest in protein-rich products is no longer a short-term trend. Demand for dairy products and ingredients with a high protein content is growing particularly strongly in Europe and the US.
Demand for dairy products also remains stable in Southeast Asia despite disruptions to international trade and geopolitical risks.
At the same time, global milk production is increasing. Growth is being recorded in Oceania, the US and Europe, although weather conditions may limit the pace. In particular, hot and dry summer conditions have already affected production in some European countries.
Dairy companies expect demand for high-protein products to remain a long-term trend and continue to invest in new products and ingredients. This could support global dairy demand even as milk production continues to expand.
