Germany’s grain harvest will be the lowest in six years
The Association of German Farmer Cooperatives forecasts that the country will harvest 39.1 million tons of grain this year, the lowest value since 2018.
The Association of German Farmer Cooperatives estimates the gross harvest of wheat at 18.6 million tons and barley at 10.7 million tons.
A rainy spring and summer reduced wheat and barley yields, but had a favorable effect on the development of corn crops. The harvest of corn, which is not yet completed, will be the largest in the last five years – 4.91 million tons. Compared to last year, corn production will increase by 9.4%.
