The Secretary of State noted that the recovery of the Ukrainian agricultural sector will provide new opportunities for its modernization, organic transformation and necessary reforms. It will also facilitate Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
“Ukraine belongs to the European family, it is part of a united free Europe. It is true that Ukraine’s integration into the EU will face various challenges for both the EU and Ukraine. We must also take into account the fact that it will affect not only the EU single market, but also world markets. We have to make sure that the EU’s agricultural policy and support for Ukraine will become a working model in the enlarged EU,” she said.
Nick stated that Ukraine’s accession will greatly strengthen the EU’s agricultural sector, consolidate the Community’s position as a key player on world markets and significantly increase food security in Europe and the world.
