Drone attacks on Russian logistics complicate stolen grain exports through Crimean ports
The export of grain taken from occupied Ukrainian territories through Crimea has reportedly slowed as Russian logistics routes come under increasing pressure from drone attacks. Several bulk carriers designated to load grain are currently waiting off the Crimean coast without entering port.
According to monitoring group Krymskyi Viter, four bulk carriers were recently observed in the Yalta Bay area, while another vessel was spotted near Alushta. Activists noted that such a concentration of ships waiting to load grain had not been seen before.
Satellite imagery indicates that grain-loading operations at the Avlita terminal in Sevastopol Bay and the grain terminal in Kamyshova Bay have been suspended for at least two days. The berths at both facilities have remained empty, and no grain shipments have been loaded onto vessels during this period.
The disruption is believed to be linked to difficulties transporting grain from occupied regions of southern Ukraine to Crimea. Freight trucks traveling along the so-called “land corridor” have reportedly faced increasing drone attacks, complicating the delivery of cargo to Crimean ports.
As a result, vessels that arrived to load grain remain anchored offshore, waiting for cargo that has yet to arrive. The situation highlights the growing impact of attacks on Russian logistics networks supporting grain exports through occupied Crimea.
