Conservative harvest forecast for Ukraine – 73 million tons
According to a conservative forecast, the potential harvest of grains and oilseeds for this year is expected to reach 73 million tons.
This was announced during the tenth meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Latvian Commission on Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation by Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative of Ukraine.
“The conservative forecast is that the harvest will amount to 73 million tons,” Kachka said.
He expressed hope that the harvest could be higher than the conservative forecast, close to what it was last year.
“Last year, 79 million tons of grains and oilseeds were harvested,” Kachka reminded.
As reported, at the beginning of last year, the total gross harvest of grains and oilseeds for 2023 was also forecasted to be almost 13% lower compared to the previous period, at 63.5 mln tons. However, weather conditions contributed to the increase in harvest.
