China Jan-Feb meat imports at 1.1 mln tons
China, the world’s top meat buyer, imported 1.1 million metric tonnes of meat in January and February, down from 1.3 million metric tonnes in the corresponding period last year, according to customs data.
China’s General Administration of Customs combines data for the first two months of the year to smooth out distortions caused by the shifting timing of the week-long Lunar New Year holiday, which fell in February this year.
