2024/25 Argentina Corn Estimate Unchanged at 46.0 Million Tons
Corn harvesting in Argentina advanced to 6.7% as of late last week compared to 2% last year. This represents an advance of 1.3% for the week. The most advanced harvest is in east-central Entre Rios where the corn is 46% harvested and north-central Santa Fe where the corn is 45% harvested. The average corn yield thus far is 8,010 kg/ha (127.3 bu/ac) which is up 3.5 bushels from the prior week.
The weather in Argentina has improved significantly over the last several weeks. The crops have stabilized and the previous drought fears have given way to concerns of too much rain in isolated areas of Buenos Aires. The recent rainfall has boosted soil moisture for the late developing corn, so the Argentina corn estimate was left unchanged this week at 46.0 million tons.
Below is the corn harvest pace in Argentina for March 6, 2025 from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange.

The corn condition in Argentina improved for the third consecutive week (see graph below), but the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange did not break down the crop rating percentages last week. The soil moisture for the corn also improved for the third consecutive week.
