Wheat tenders show stable asking prices despite forecasts of increased global harvest
After the update of the world wheat balance, which predicts an increase in the world harvest by 28 million tons compared to the previous season, traders were interested in how tender prices would react to it.
On November 18, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Jordan held a tender for the purchase of 120,000 tons of milling wheat of any origin with shipment from January 16-31, 2026, in which it contracted 60,000 tons of wheat from CHS at a price of $263.85/ton C&F.
Also in the tender, Buildcom offered wheat at a price of $264.77/t, Cofco at $265.5/t, and Cargill at $265.95/t.
In addition, on November 19, the Jordanian Ministry of Industry and Trade will hold a tender for the purchase of 120,000 tons of feed barley of any origin.
Recall that last week, the Algerian OAIC agency purchased at least 500 thousand tons of food wheat of any origin at a price of $263-264/ton C&F.
Demand prices for wheat have stabilized at $260-265/t C&F, so markets do not expect further price growth, but only a downward correction.
