USDA plans to launch updated agricultural export sales reporting system in October 2025
The U.S. Department of Agriculture plans to launch a revamped agricultural export sales reporting system in October 2025, but the exact launch date has not yet been set. This was announced on July 23 during an online presentation, Reuters reports.
According to U.S. law, exporters are required to report their agricultural sales weekly, and the department publishes these data every Thursday. The new system, called the Export Sales Reporting and Query System (ESRQS), already crashed during an attempted launch in 2022. At that time, traders were unable to adapt to the system, which caused a three-week delay in submitting reports.
To avoid a failure, the USDA announced a series of webinars and training sessions for exporters in August and September. However, the lack of specifics about the launch date and unclear details of the preparation only add to the anxiety. “If the system doesn’t work properly, trading could be seriously affected,” warns one trader.
Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
