Ukraine’s sunflower acreage in 2021 very likely to hit a record high

Due to a smaller 2020 crop, sunflower oil and sunflower meal exports decreased compared to the previous season. At the same time, sunflower seed exports will remain at the highest level since MY 2012/13.
The current tight season, which witnesses peak prices of sunflower seed and oil, creates prerequisites for expanding sunflower acreage in Ukraine.
In view of current weather conditions, yield is expected to recover after the bad-harvest year, UkrAgroConsult reports.
The 2021 sunseed crop is forecasted to be higher compared to 2020.
