Ukraine’s rapeseed oil production reaches a record 1.3 mln tons in MY 2025/26

Rapeseed processing in Ukraine exceeded 1.3 mln tons in the MY 2025/26, accounting for 42% of the country’s gross harvest. This was the highest figure recorded since Ukraine began processing this agricultural commodity.

In 2025/26 MY, Ukraine’s rapeseed oil exports increased 2.5-fold compared with 2024/25 MY, reaching 520 thousand tons versus 210 thousand tons. Export revenue more than tripled to $588 mln from $194 mln. The country also recorded a significant increase in the production and export of rapeseed meal.

In the first half of 2026, Ukraine exported 184.2 thousand tons of rapeseed oil, compared with 19.5 thousand tons in the same period of the previous year, representing a 9.7-fold increase. Export revenue rose 10.9-fold to $208 mln from $19 mln.

Rapeseed oil production increased to 380.47 thousand tons in 2025, driven by a substantial rise in the processing of the 2025 rapeseed harvest from September, when the relevant Ukrainian law came into force. Compared with the pre-war level of 184.8 thousand tons in 2021, production increased 2.1-fold. Output rose 6.1-fold compared with 62.9 thousand tons produced in 2022. Compared with 299.3 thousand tons in 2023 and 171.8 thousand tons in 2024, production increased by 1.3 and 2.2 times, respectively.
