Ukraine. Spring field works to start in late March – Minister Leshchenko
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Roman Leshchenko on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The large-scale start of spring field works has been scheduled for late March 2022, in some regions – for early April 2022. Of course, the actual date will depend on warm temperatures and precipitation, but for now it is so,” Leshchenko wrote.
In his words, night temperatures are still below zero, dropping to 12-10 degrees (Celsius) below zero in northern and eastern regions. But, according to Leshchenko, it is good, as “the weather allows us to accumulate resources, organize works and meet the optimal agrometeorological deadline”.
“Our task is to use the additional time as much as possible, attract internal and external assistance and optimally prepare for field works,” Leshchenko stressed.
