Ukraine. Moderately warm and wet weather was favorable for growing spring grains

Unstable air temperatures with precipitation of various intensities dominated the country on May 11-20. The greatest growth delay is observed in plants sown late (October 5-15) after sunflower. Winter crops are in good and fair condition. Moderately warm and wet weather was favorable for growing spring grains, UkrAgroConsult reports.
Rain fell almost all over the country, locally as heavy downpours with strong winds, thunderstorms and hail.
Because of excessive amounts of precipitation, local lodging of winter barley and partially of winter wheat is seen in thick plantings.
