US soybean meal exports rise amid rising processing volumes
Oil World (Germany) reports that the increase in soybean processing in the US in the first quarter of this year is estimated to be approximately 9% higher than in the same period last year.
By the end of March, the volume of processed beans will reach 6 million tonnes, compared to 5.6 million tonnes a year earlier. Against this backdrop, soybean meal exports have continued at a high pace. Specifically, 380,000 tonnes were shipped between March 13 and 19, compared to 250,000 tonnes in the same week a year earlier.
Meanwhile, the total volume of product shipments over the previous three weeks, as of March 19, amounted to 1.14 million tonnes (up 0.3 million tonnes).
It was previously reported that in the first half of the 2025/26 season, soybean shipments from the US decreased by 11.4 million tonnes compared to the same period last season. This, in turn, stimulated growth in domestic processing and created an oversupply of soybean oil in the US market.
