Ukraine continues to shift from soybean exports toward domestic processing. In MY 2025/26, the share of soybeans processed domestically reached a record 54.2%, and this figure could rise to 70–74% in the new season, according to the Donau Soja Association.

For MY 2026/27, Ukraine’s Ministry of Agrarian Policy forecasts soybean production at around 3.8 mln tons. Of this volume, approximately 2.8 mln tons could be processed domestically, while about 1 mln tons is expected to be exported as raw soybeans.

The expansion of domestic processing is increasing the role of value-added products in Ukraine’s exports. In MY 2025/26, export revenues from soybean oil and meal rose by 12.3% to $1.02 bln.

Meanwhile, processors are facing intense competition for new-crop soybeans. Market pressure is being driven by harvest delays, lower-than-expected soybean supplies, strong export demand for soybean meal, and competition from raw soybean exporters.

Exports of processed soybean products remain active. During the first 17 days of September, Ukraine exported 25.9 thsd tons of soybean meal and 8.7 thsd tons of soybean oil, with Poland being the main destination for both products. Ensuring a stable supply of high-quality raw materials remains a key factor for further development of domestic processing.
