The first forward prices for new crop rapeseed in Ukraine have appeared

Ukraine maintains a stable pace of rapeseed exports. As of December 8, 52 thousand tons were shipped, while in November the figure was almost 158 ​​thousand tons. According to forecasts, in December exports will remain within the range of 105–150 thousand tons. This was reported by the analytical department of the agricultural cooperative PUSK, established within the VAR.

“Rapeseed exports are at stable levels. Paid duties have begun to be returned, and liquidity is gradually turning towards exporters. On the European market, rapeseed has been trading in a narrow range of €477–480 per ton for about two months. There are price fluctuations of 2–3%, but there is no real dynamics. However, the crop may go up. The key driver now is soybeans: if it grows, rapeseed may also rise in price to €500–510 per ton,” analysts note.

The situation on the domestic market is similar: the conditional price is kept at $550–560 per ton, the indicators of processing enterprises are 24,000–24,500 UAH/t.

“The market is generally stable. There are isolated cases of higher prices, but they are individual. Some plants are accelerating purchases due to the shortage of other crops, in particular sunflower, so a small increase is possible,” the PUSK adds.

Forward trade in rapeseed of the 2026 harvest will soon be activated.

“The first indicators for rapeseed of the new harvest are from $430–435 per ton CPT port for the delivery of small batches in July–August. The best period for forward fixation is traditionally January–March. “There are currently no risks to the new harvest, but it is too early to conclude contracts for large volumes,” the analysts concluded.
