Algeria purchased 200 thsd tons of wheat
Algerian state-owned company OAIC purchased 200,000 tons of milling wheat of any origin at a tender, Reuters reports.
The wheat purchase prices were not disclosed. Traders believe they were high following the recent sharp rise in wheat export prices. The purchased wheat is likely of Black Sea origin, according to traders.
Bids for the tender closed on March 10. According to the tender terms, shipments will take place to the ports of Mostaganem and Tenes. Shipments are scheduled for the following periods: April 1-15, April 16-30, May 1-15, May 16-31, June 1-15, and June 16-30. For shipments from South America or Australia, the delivery dates are shifted forward by one month.
