South Korea purchased 131 thsd tons of corn in a tender
The Korea Feed Manufacturers Association (KFA) has purchased approximately 131,000 metric tons of corn for animal feed in an international tender held on Wednesday, October 15. According to European traders, the corn is expected to be sourced from the United States, South America or South Africa. The purchase, made by the KFA’s Incheon branch, was split into two lots at a price of approximately $234.90 per ton including cost and freight, with arrival in South Korea in January 2026.
The first lot of approximately 65,000 tons was purchased from trading company CHS, with an expected arrival date of January 5. The second lot of 66,000 tons was purchased from Olam, with an expected arrival date of January 30. Shipping times vary depending on the region of origin: November to December for the United States, South America or South Africa. Corn of European or Black Sea origin was not allowed in the tender. Traders’ estimates may be revised regarding prices and volumes.
