South Korea is actively buying soybean meal
According to European traders, the South Korean Feed Manufacturers Association (KFA) purchased about 60,000 tons of soybean meal produced in the USA, China, or South American countries from COFCO at an international tender on January 13 at a price of $371.71/ton C&F (including a surcharge for additional unloading at the port).
The contracted meal must be delivered to the buyer by May 30, 2026. If the meal is shipped from South American countries, it must arrive in South Korea between March 15 and April 15.
In addition, in another tender, also held on January 13, the leading South Korean animal feed manufacturer NOFI purchased a similar volume of soybean meal originating from South American countries from the operator Olam with delivery until May 25, 2026 at a price of $373.8/t C&F (including a surcharge for additional unloading at the port).
