Romanian grain prices supported by weather, currency and geopolitical factors
Romanian milling wheat (12%) gained about USD 2/mt over the week to USD 240/mt FOB Constanta. Last week USD prices were supported by the weaker Euro and higher crude oil prices.
Market worries renewed about fertilizer prices and possibility of lower 2026 wheat crop.
Some increase in wheat prices encourage farmers even more to boost the old crop wheat selling, allowing traders negotiate better prices. Growing sales of Romanian wheat to Algeria can confirm this trend. Additional demand is from Saudi Arabia.
