Rapeseed in January-June may become “gold” for Ukrainian processors – opinion
Rapeseed may become the most profitable oilseed crop for Ukrainian processors in the first half of 2026 against the backdrop of complicated exports and stable demand, in particular from the European biofuel industry. Analysts expect that plants in Ukraine will activate purchases and significantly increase processing – up to 1.1-2 million tons compared to 0.5 million tons a year earlier.
“Rapeseed in January-June has the prospect of being “gold” for Ukrainian processors in terms of crash margins, since exports are complicated by the capabilities and desires of ports. Therefore, I expect that some plants, mainly from Western Ukraine, will be happy to buy it,” said Serhiy Repetsky, partner at Sunstone Brokers.
